Word of the Year

Octamom and Laurie and Tip Junkie (among the many others) have encouraged their readers to pick a word of the year that would symbolizes what I would like for the coming year. My word for this year is...

Simplify

I love this word and have it hanging up in my bedroom. I have come to the conclusion that I need to simplify so many things in my life. I have already tried to start this by going through my little home and throwing away or packing up anything that was cluttering our space. I have to admit I feel like I have just put on new underwear or slithered between clean sheets. It feels awesome!

I really think all of us are constantly bombarded by things we need to do for ourselves and our children and I want to be able to discern what is needed (like family time and personal time) and what we don't need in our lives. I want to live a simple life.

I love a talk given by Dallin H. Oaks who is one of the 12 apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His talk titled Good, Better, Best has helped me to identify what are the best things I need to make sure I do in my life.

Well on the simplifying...
