I Don't Get It???

I watched a segment on the Today Show this morning on how much stay-at-home mothers would make. First off, I think it is a joke to even start thinking about how much a mother should get paid, but what got me was when it was stated that due to the economy mothers are working overtime. According to the segment, stay-at-home moms are working 56 hours a week of overtime. Maybe I am an idiot, but I didn't think you could get more than 24 hours in a day {okay I guess I am not parenting or cleaning or running errands while I am asleep, although I am still getting up in the middle of the night.} Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think I heard something of that same subject on Good Morning America. Moms, overworked - underpaid. Where is our stimulus package ---oh yeah, supposed to be thinking of the blessings, (tee, hee)

I'm confused as to why the economy would make taking care of your kids and house take more hours? Unless they figure it takes you that long to re-budget your money. Kind of weird but hey...it is a tough job and I admire the women who can do it!

Well, I guess if you look at it from my point of view: I'm a nanny. I'm basically being paid to run a household and raise their kids, ya know? And I make 14.50 an hour. So yeah, I make good money being a "Mom", ya know?
